Connected to Lead’s mission is to create space for people of all ages to make meaningful connections while strengthening the leader within them. Connected to Lead is seeking student interns interested in gaining firsthand experience in leadership development, counseling, and case management. Interns are expected to commit to 16-20 hours per week, though specific start and end dates are flexible and weekly hours will be set upon selection. We will work with interns to ensure the position satisfies any course credit or curriculum requirements. Please note that all of the internships with Connected to Lead are unpaid.

Development interns

We are seeking interns to work on our fundraising and donor engagement work. Development interns are responsible for raising funds to aid in the sustainability of the organization. Interns plan and coordinate fundraisers, conduct donor management, and research prospects. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in fundraising, event planning, and nonprofit operations/management.

  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Database experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Must be creative and resourceful

communication interns

We are seeking an intern to work on communications and social media tasks. Communications interns are responsible for activities that promote and brand Connected to Lead. Interns conduct public relations outreach, develop digital assets, and seek to promote agency programs. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in marketing, website and social media content, and public relations.

required skills

  • Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences
  • Exceptional writing ability and experience with writing stories
  • Ability to collect and synthesize information from diverse sources
  • Must be creative & resourceful
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Experience with using social media: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Skills with Powerpoint/Keynote, Photoshop, iMovie, Illustrator and are extremely useful but not necessary
  • Experience with WordPress is also a plus
